About
Welcome!
I’m really happy you’re here.
Some of you may already know me from different corners of the music and media business. Others may have just stumbled across this page and be wondering, “Who is Jacquie Lucky?”
Either way...welcome!
I’ve spent more than 30 years working across radio, record labels, marketing, publishing, sync licensing, music supervision, and now publishing American Music + Media. I’ve worked with artists, composers, filmmakers, producers, executives, and brands, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
Building a creative career can be exciting, inspiring, confusing, overwhelming, and incredibly rewarding—all at the same time.
Nobody hands you a roadmap.
Most of us figure it out one job, one relationship, one mistake, and one opportunity at a time.
I know, because that’s exactly how I learned.
Why I Created This Is Your Lucky Break
When I was starting my career, it felt like I didn’t have someone in my corner.
I didn’t have a mentor sitting me down to explain how the business really worked or how to navigate my career. Nobody told me how all the different pieces fit together or what mattered most once I got my foot in the door.
I learned through experience.
Sometimes the hard way.
Looking back, I wish there had been a place where someone simply said,
“Pull up a chair. Let’s talk.”
That’s why I created This Is Your Lucky Break.
Not because I have all the answers.
But because I’ve been around the block a few times, and if something I’ve learned can help you avoid a wrong turn, gain a little clarity, or feel less alone, then this is worth doing.
What You’ll Find Here
This isn’t just about music supervision.
Or sync licensing.
Or publishing.
Or marketing and brand partnerships.
Or the music and media business.
Those are important, and we’ll absolutely talk about them.
But what really interests me is the human side of building a creative career.
We’ll talk about:
relationships and reputation
leadership and career growth
creativity and storytelling
burnout, resilience, and mental health
navigating change
building a sustainable career—not just successful
Most importantly, we’ll talk honestly.
No pretending this business is easy.
No fake promises.
Just real conversations, practical perspective, and the lessons that only come from lived experience.
Who This Is For
This is for creative professionals and entrepreneurs.
Artists.
Composers.
Music and Media professionals.
Filmmakers.
Students.
People changing careers.
Anyone who loves these industries but occasionally wonders...
“Am I doing the right thing?”
Or...
“What’s my next move?”
If that’s you and you want to speak with a real human, not to an AI bot…
You’re in the right place.
My Promise
My goal isn’t to tell you what your dream should be.
It’s to help you see your options more clearly, ask better questions, and make decisions that feel right for you.
I genuinely believe every person has something unique to contribute.
I hope that when you spend time here, you’ll leave feeling a little more informed, a little more confident, and a little less alone.
Because you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
I’m really glad you’re here.
We’ve got a lot to talk about.
Let’s go!
