Thanks for this wealth of info! This is incredible and I’m looking forward to reading the series. Where does using plugins and platforms like Arcade, Co-Producer, and Splice that provide samples and loops and are not generative AI, fit into the being pre-cleared and “one-stop”?
It’s my understanding that kicks, snares, claps etc out of splice or wherever are fine to use (pretty sure that stuff is all over every pop song of the last 15yrs)
Sampling part of another song is where you’ll get into trouble!
Thanks. It’s feels pretty clear to me on percussive sounds, particularly as I cut, edit, revision them - but then I wonder about sounds like piano riffs, etc. I still manipulate and revise them, used from sample packs for example (not samples from another song). My understanding is that these sounds are pre-cleared but I’m not 100% sure.
Love the insights, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to reading more of the series. 👏👏
Question 🙋♂️
If this was my subject line in an email, would you open it?
Sounds Like Charlie Puth meets The 1975, DISCO link, One Stop, 100% Ownership, No Samples
